Koyasan

Tall columns of patterned light rise through a dark timber room, and every table keeps a small lamp of its own.

The architecture carries the light. Patterned columns rise the full height of the dining room and fill it with amber, while a small lamp on every table keeps each conversation in its own circle.

Then the temperature turns. Past the tables, a painted dragon coils across walls and ceiling in cool blue, lit from a hidden cove, and a single line of gold along the floor leads the way back to the warmth.
